![]() the same day, she departed for Japan, but three miles east of Keppel Harbour hit a British mine and quickly sank with the loss of 13 men. ![]() On 8 October 1942 I-30 arrived at Penang to refuel and replenish, then sailed for Singapore, arriving early on the 13th. Her cargo included blueprints and a full set of the Würzburg air defense ground radar, five German G7a and three G7e torpedoes, five Torpedovorhalterechner (torpedo data computers), 240 Bolde sonar countermeasure rounds, rocket and glider bombs, anti-tank guns, a Zeiss anti-aircraft artillery director (fire control system), two hundred 20 mm AA guns, industrial diamonds valued at one million yen, and fifty Enigma T coding machines. I-30 departed Lorient on 22 August carrying a Japanese engineer as a passenger. In return I-30 was repainted U-boat grey and fitted with a Metox radar detector and a Flakvierling 38 quad 20 mm AA gun, replacing her Type 96 25 mm AA guns. They also supplied the Germans with blueprints of the Type 91 aerial torpedo. In the meantime the I-30 's cargo of 1,500 kg (3,300 lb) of mica and 650 kg (1,430 lb) of shellac was unloaded. The officers and crew of I-30 were feted by their German allies, travelling to Berlin where Commander Endo was presented to Adolf Hitler, and returning to Lorient via a sightseeing trip to Paris. The officers and crew of I-30 were greeted by Grossadmiral Erich Raeder, Admiral Karl Dönitz, and Captain Yokoi Tadao, the Japanese Naval Attaché to Germany. I-30 was the first Japanese submarine to arrive in Europe during World War II. On 2 August she arrived in the Bay of Biscay and was escorted into Lorient by a powerful force of German M-class minesweepers and Luftwaffe Junkers Ju 88 bombers. In mid-June 1942 I-30 was sent on a Yanagi mission to Europe, rounding the Cape of Good Hope and entering the Atlantic en route to France. ![]() Its two crewmen were discovered by Royal Marines, and in the ensuing firefight both were killed. ![]() The I-16 's midget submarine went missing, presumed sunk, while the I-20 's beached further along the coast. The corvettes counter-attacked with depth charges, but at 21:20 the midget from I-20 torpedoed and sank the British Loyalty. At 20:25, one torpedoed and damaged the Ramillies. The next night the Type C submarines I-16 and I-20 launched their Ko-hyoteki midget submarines about 10 miles from the harbour. The aircraft sighted the battleship HMS Ramillies at anchor in the bay, along with the destroyers Duncan and Active, corvettes Genista and Thyme, troopship Karanja, hospital ship Atlantis, tanker British Loyalty, merchant ship Llandaff Castle, and an ammunition ship. On the night of 29 May I-30 she sent her aircraft to the harbour of Diego Suarez at the northern tip of Madagascar, which was occupied by the British. In May I-30 sailed along the coast of Africa, launching its Yokosuka E14Y floatplane on a series of reconnaissance flights over Aden, Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, and Durban, East London, Port Elizabeth and Simon's Town in South Africa searching for targets. Two days later she sailed from Penang accompanied by the auxiliary cruiser and supply ship Aikoku Maru to reconnoitre selected points on the East African coast for possible attack. On 11 April, I-30 departed Kure for Penang, Malaya, arriving on the 20th. Submarine Squadron 8's 1st Division was withdrawn from its base at Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands and assigned the task. On 27 March 1942 the German Kriegsmarine naval staff requested that the Imperial Navy launch operations against Allied convoys in the Indian Ocean, and on 8 April the Japanese agreed to dispatch a detachment of submarines to the East Coast of Africa. The submarine was laid down at the Kure Naval Arsenal on 7 June 1939, launched on 17 September 1940, completed on 28 February 1942, and commissioned with Commander Endo Shinobu in command. I-30 returned to Singapore loaded with military technology and information, but hit a mine outside the harbour and sank. She was the first Japanese submarine to reach Europe, arriving at Lorient, France in August 1942. After operating in the Indian Ocean she participated in a Yanagi mission, aimed at connecting Japan and Nazi Germany by submarine. I-30 was a Type B1 submarine of the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. 1 × 14 cm/40 11th Year Type naval gun.Sunk by mine, 13 October 1942, later salvaged and scrapped, 1959-1960

![]() Some, but not all, puzzles have a lethal timer attached. If anything, the setting enhances the sense of danger in needing to complete these puzzles, as our protagonists could potentially die. In fact, it takes place almost exclusively inside of a castle, only occasionally venturing outdoors.Ī standard setting is pretty typical for a video game trilogy, so I don’t hold this against the games at all. The We Were Here series never truly strays from its medieval aesthetic. The games are set in a creepy, medieval castle. Solutions can come in many different ways, but there are few puzzles where both players provide information or act without a clear divide separating them. This is usually done by activating certain buttons or pushing particular levers. In most puzzles these games offer, one player has the information the other needs to escape the scenario. Puzzles typically have one informer and one actor. (Though the games are still fun through Discord, no doubt.) 2. However, when we replayed the games, we found the walkie-talkies made for a much more interesting and compelling gameplay experience. My friend and I originally used Discord to circumvent these restrictions. These buttons emphasize the importance of not just speaking, but also listening. ![]() The radio has two separate buttons-one to send signals and the other to receive them. Voice chat in the We Were Here series revolves around an in-game two-way radio. The two players communicate via walkie-talkie. Nevertheless, all three games revolve around the same four gameplay mechanics:ġ. In addition, as of June 2020, all three games are available on Xbox One.Īs the games’ graphics, control schemes, interactivity, and polish have evolved, so too has the price tag-something that angered many fans and led to relatively lower scores, particularly for We Were Here Too. In October 2019, We Were Here became a trilogy, with We Were Here Too ( February 2, 2018) and We Were Here Together ( October 10, 2019) joining the ranks of the two-player co-op puzzle bonanza. It’s like a creepy version of Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, and it’s available at no cost. The game is both dark and mysterious, tasking players with exploring an impressive medieval ruin, still haunted with spirits from the past. We Were Here is notable for the creativity of its various puzzles, but also for its atmosphere. The game is a free cooperative puzzler (with VR support!) in which two players must explore a medieval castle and uncover secrets in order to escape. On February 3, 2017, Total Mayhem Games released its first Steam game, We Were Here. ![]() I used multiple passes to weld up 1/2" plate with it with no problem.įor the price, I would recommend it even though mine quit on me after a couple of months (get the extended warranty and it will be ok. It is a handy little 10# machine that I used on 150# of heavy duty extension cord to weld on my fence and it worked great. I am thinking of getting another one since it is a throw away at the price of purchase, it would cost more to fix than buy a new one. I ran maybe 10# of wire thru it with no problem and then it just quit working between passes. I first bought the Titanium 125 flux machine and it welded awesome. I also bought the spool gun with it ($200) to weld aluminum and it works good also. I have not had any problems with it at all but it is way above your stated price range ($999 and it never goes on sale, at least I havent seen it). I bought a HF Vulcan Omni-Pro 220 and that is what stays by my fab table. I havent used it much since I got it back. The thing works great when plugged in to an outlet (no extension cord), but now Im 75 from the outlet and need to buy/build an extension cord. Hey all, So.Im trying to weld with my Lincoln Pro-mig 135. ![]() They fixed it that time after much phone discussion with the tech on what it was doing. 1 2 ClemSparks PowerDork 2/10/13 7:09 p.m. I had to send it back again (prepaid shipping on the next go round). After much arguing the dropped that fee but when I got it back, it was still broke. The board went out after about 5 minutes of welding, cost me shipping charges to get it back to them and then they wanted to charge me to return it also. I didnt have good luck with the first Everlast multi process machine. I don't think its suitable for much else. I've posted here jokingly but I think it may be true: I think the reason that welder exists is because a ton of those are used in China to assemble the poorly-welded furniture etc you see at Target, Walmart, etc. You're starting out with three strikes against you. They don't sell any wire claimed compatible with that welder. Last time I looked at HF's welding wire display, their flux wire is labelled FOR DC ONLY. Only a pro would understand its limitations and how to work around them. While HF markets this AC flux welder to beginners, it really isn't a good match. If you're lucky it will last beyond the warranty period. ![]() I would definitely buy from Amazon with their decent return policy, and pay extra for the longest extended warranty they offer. If you want to stay inexpensive for hobby use and just tinkering, there are Youtube reviews and reviews on Amazon, of really cheap DC wire welders that have inverters (much lighter than a transformer) and seem to work ok. Good luck in your search for a better welder. ![]() Can I get a hallelujah and an amen?Īs we see in the trailer, ECTO-1 has/will receive some mechanical upgrades, with a Gunner Seat that deploys from the back seat (complete with its own Proton Pack) and there’s a new Ghost Sniffer – some sort of drone/robot that gets deployed out the back. Thankfully, the most important details such as the Ghostbusters logo are printed elements. Stickers suck, we all know that, but I think in the case of the 2020 LEGO ECTO-1, you’ll have a legitimate reason to opt to NOT apply these stickers to get a pristine ECTO-1 model. The ECTO-1 that we see in the Afterlife trailer does seem to be the original from the 1984 movie, but a little beat up and rusted, hence all the new rust stickers on the model. If you were a fan of the original LEGO Ideas ECTO-1 from 2014, the 2020 version is the upgrade you’ve always wanted, and more. The 2020 LEGO ECTO-1 measures over 8 ” (22.5cm) high, 18” (47cm) long and 6” (16.5cm) wide – like all Cadillacs, the model is suitably long, making it the longest Creator Expert-scale vehicle yet. This is without doubt, a stunningly detailed set that perfectly captures the iconic silhoutte, colours and scale of the ECTO-1. ![]() See below for regional links and pricing: It has a retail price of US$199.99 / AU$299.99 and will be available exclusively at or your local LEGO Brand Retail Store at launch. This 2,352 piece highly detailed Ectomobile model is based on the vehicle featured in Ghostbusters: Afterlife (coming to you in 2021, or whenever cinemas open), and has a global release date of 15 November. LEGO are hellbent on finishing 2020 strong, and with the reveal of 10274 Ghostbusters Ecto-1, a UCS/Creator Expert-esque take on the iconic 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor. |
